We always remember the people who make us feel special, don't we? Right before my senior year of high school, I did a summer college credit course at IWU and met Emilie. She has this voice that makes you believe everything will be okay. She has a spirit of compassion and joy. She's generous in kindness and caring for others. You want to be around this girl, basically. Anyway, I was such a nervous little breeze of a kid at this college camp thing with all these ridiculous over-achievers, and Emilie made me feel like a somebody. She makes everybody feel like a somebody. I'm so glad to know her and so glad she spent a morning watching the ducks on the dock and lounging in wet weeds with me. Enjoy your vacation, sweet Emilie.
