These images have been trapped in my mind since last summer. I’m so excited that I was finally able to bring them to life. Once I get something in my mind, I have to do it. It just consumes my every thought until it’s over. Thankfully, my suitemate from college came to visit me this week and helped bring my vision to life. I couldn’t have cut and tied up all those blankets without Jaki. I’ve always been a fort person. I used to make them all the time as a kid. I helped Mr. Jacob turn his entire classroom into a fort village. I lived in a fort for one semester of college. And my senior art project was a huge fort. I just love the idea of creating space… sectioning off a small corner of the universe for myself and the people I love. So that’s what this is. A celebration of our little corner of the universe.
