This is the type of wedding I love capturing. Alex and Aubrey are sweet friends of mine, and I am so honored they asked me to be a part of their meaningful day. This day was an amazing mix of traditional and non-traditional. Alex and Aubrey made sure every aspect of the wedding was meaningful to them. These two are just a fountain of generosity. The moment you meet them, you just feel welcomed into their lives. Aubrey’s loving laughter mixed with Alex’s calm demeanor immediately grabs your attention. At one point, I was talking to Alex and just thanking him for how kind and welcoming he had been. And he immediately said, “That’s one of the things I’ve been learning from Aubrey.” I thought that was beautiful and so true of their relationship. They bring out the best in one another. And Alex is right, Aubrey is a welcoming, kind spirit and it’s hard not to learn a thing or two about generosity when you’re with her, especially on her wedding day. She actually hired a masseuse to give all the bridesmaids massages before the ceremony. That was just one of the kind, practical ways she loved on others in the midst of her own special day.
I’m so happy for you, Alex and Aubrey. Aubrey, I’m so glad you got the Leap Day wedding you dreamed of as a child. And Alex, I’m so glad you met the girl of your dreams in a little brewery… the same little brewery where you celebrated with friends right after the wedding. What a perfect day. May God continue to bless you on all of your adventures ahead. God gives good gifts.
